I mentioned in my previous post that New Atlanta had hired someone new. Let me be the first to publicly welcome the new BlueDragon Technical Sales Specialist, Josh Adams. Many will know him as the Atlanta CFUG Manager for the past two years, where he has earned a reputation for creative community-building (such as the CF_Lunch's now held monthly throughout the Atlanta area, and even in some other cities as other managers have picked up the idea).
Josh had previously worked with Digital Insight, who happened to be one of the earliest adopters of BlueDragon, where he had both worked with BlueDragon and also established himself in the realm of enterprise-class CFML application development. Josh heard through the grapevine that we were seeking someone to help take the travel load off my back, in bringing BlueDragon evangelism to new clients throughout the country and around the world, traveling with my long-time travel partner, Brian O'Reilly. I hinted in the previous note how the travel was conflicting with some personal and family needs, so we had started looking for someone late last year.
After careful consideration of several candidates and an extensive interview process, we selected Josh, and I can attest personally how valuable he will be to New Atlanta. He and I spent the last two weeks (his first two with the company) traveling to client sites in Michigan and the State of Washington. Josh showed himself to be extremely adept technically, and professionally. Besides being a quick study, he clearly brings a lot to the table immediately, and I feel that I'm leaving the job of pre-sales support (and many other, though not all, parts of my job) in very capable hands.
Josh will begin actively contributing to the BlueDragon Interest list, and he will also become the primary contributor to this BlueDragon blog. Soon he'll be presenting at user groups, contributing articles, and much more. In fact, he and I may work together on some ideas that I'd long wanted to pursue (perhaps a newsletter, podcast, Flash training videos, and more). Still, he'll have his hands full in the near future as he gets up to full speed.
I hope everyone will bid him a hearty welcome.
Thanks for the introduction, Charlie! You did such a great job (which of
course comes as absolutely no surprise) that I certainly don't need to add
anything to your post. But I do want to quickly lete everyone know that
you may contact me at my New Atlanta email address if you so desire. I
want to avoid the plague of spam that Charlie got at charlie@newatlanta.com
so I'm not going to list the address here--I'll just say that it's in the
same format. Let me know what I can do for you!
Congratulations to you, Josh. Wishing you the best at New Atlanta. I'm also
happy to see Charlie will still be in Atlanta as the ACFUG President.
So is Josh taking over this blog? Doesn't look like there's much activity
anymore.
No, I think he's just been too busy. For now, I (charlie) am keeping an eye
on comments and feedback.
I absolutely with agree you - Congratulations and Merry Christmas Mr
Charlie Arehart from Poland!
A new addition to a good team :)
